EXAMPLE CHART

A LITTLE CONTEXT

Ancient language.
Transparent calculations.

What is BaZi?

BaZi (八字), “eight characters,” describes a birth moment using four pairs of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. The Day Master anchors the chart. Ten Gods describe relationships to it; the Five Elements provide a symbolic language for those relationships.

This is a traditional interpretive system, not a scientifically established prediction of personality or events.

The calendar matters

The year changes at Li Chun and months change at the twelve Jie solar terms. We resolve those boundaries at the birth instant, using lunar-javascript 1.7.7. Day and hour follow your chosen local or solar clock. Dates: 1901–2099.

True solar time uses longitude and NOAA’s approximate equation of time. Historical time zones depend on your browser’s IANA data. Verify records near boundaries.

Room for interpretation

Element and Ten God percentages are a transparent composition model, not a final strength score. Seasonal support, combinations, and useful or favorable elements require an interpretive judgment. The reader workspace offers an explainable ordinary-pattern assessment and conditional useful-element candidates, with room for your own notes.

Symbolic stars, auxiliary palaces, and transformation rules vary by school. Detected combinations show patterns, not guaranteed transformations.
